Notes | This oral history gives a delightful look into early days on Yaquina Bay, especially of the oyster industry, in which the speaker’s father participated. Daily life and education are featured. Mrs. Updike was an early teacher in Lincoln County. The interview was originally tape-recorded as part of a journalism project at Oregon State University to commemorate the American bicentennial.
