NotesThis excellent early look at plant communities in the Oregon dunes attempted to list the plant species found in the dunes, to develop some ideas about plant succession, and to describe some of the areas where dunes and deflation plains are found. Studies were conducted in 1963, giving a relatively early point of comparison for measuring changes on the coast. “Since literature was scarce for this particular study, the author had to depend mostly on field observations.” (p.100) Doctoral dissertation. Major Professor was W. W. Chilcote.
