NotesThe ocean salmon recreational fishery is now part of the Ocean Salmon Management Program commencing with the 1978 season. Activities pursued during FY 1979 included the sampling and analysis of catch statistics, Chinook age composition, mark recovery data, and coded wire tag data. Short term work continued on the Chinook maturity study, evaluation of a troll season extension for Chinook salmon off southern Oregon, and the collection of random coho scales for a Research Section scale study to separate hatchery and wild coho.
