NotesRedtail surfperch live in the Oregon surf zone from October through March, and are found in bays from April through September. The authors studied the fish in Alsea and Yaquina Bays and the surf zone between the two estuaries. Gives some life history information. Emphasis is on reproductive biology. Also looked at food, particularly in the surf zone, and parasites. Recommended promoting a surf fishery, but thought the species was vulnerable to overexploitation in estuaries.
