NotesThis publication is based on the Master of Science thesis published by Jose Roman Lizarraga Arciniega in 1975. Paul Komar was his major professor. Discusses accretion of sand due to jetties and physical settings conducive to erosion. The author developed a computer model to simulate shoreline changes after the construction of the Siuslaw River jetties. "The shoreline advances of the model agreed closely with the actual shoreline changes found in surveys following jetty construction." (from the Abstract) Fig.14 shows advance of the shoreline on the south side of the Yaquina River entrance from 1830 to 1974 (p.41).
